Dear Unicorn Families,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am honored and excited to serve as my first year as the proud principal of Garza Elementary School. I truly look forward to an amazing and successful year working alongside such wonderful staff and community to ensure our students have an exceptional educational experience.

Garza Elementary faculty and staff strives to provide a high-quality education that supports the academic, social and emotional growth of its students. Each day our highly professional teachers, with the help of a superb support staff, work to provide the best education possible to each and every student. Our teachers challenge their students each day and provide the appropriate level of support to help every student thrive throughout their elementary years. We are proud to offer a challenging educational STEAM+ program and a host of opportunities that offers something for everyone. Developing the whole child through academics, fine arts, the seven competencies, and emotional intelligence will afford our students opportunities to develop into global citizens. Garza Elementary encourages its students to get involved and stay involved. We believe it is important to be connected to the school through positive relationships, a sense of community, and participation in extracurricular opportunities such as chess, cheerleading and the Garden Club, to name just a few. From the first day of school to the last, this is a message students will hear often from all of us at Garza Elementary.

Our staff recognizes the vital role they play in helping your children reach their full potential, and they do not take the responsibility lightly. We truly believe all students can be successful, and this belief drives the work we do on a daily basis. Parent involvement is essential to your children’s success, so we ask that you continue to play an active role in their education.

I am privileged to lead such an outstanding school community, and I look forward to what I know will be both a rewarding and successful year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, comments or concerns at any time. I am always here to serve you. Gooooo, Unicorns!
